ELGIN'S HISTORY

For over 60 years Elgin, an early manufacturing pioneer in the field of physical therapy, has built a reputation for crafting high quality rehab and therapy products. In 1946, when Dr. Thomas L. DeLorme, M.D. was developing the Technic and Medical Applications for Progressive Resistance Exercise (P.R.E.), Elgin Exercise Appliance Co. was responding to his needs by developing the equipment he required and making that equipment available to the new profession. Elgin, thus, became the originator of P.R.E. equipment designed specifically for the medical market.

Continuing to sell exclusively to dealers, the Elgin team of today is committed to manufacturing thoughtfully designed products for the rehab and therapy communities.
